I've been away for a while. Unfortunately, some personal stuff in my life has really thrown me for a loop, and I just haven't felt like writing.
Any other manuscript, I would be half way through drafting at this point, but after a few weeks taking a break, I'm still at around 10,000 words. I don't feel the love for the story that I once did, even though I still think the premise is great. I can't force myself to write, so I've taken the time off to pick up some new books and read them. Hopefully, I'll be able to fall back in love with my barely started book. Until then, writing will stay on hold.
I did finally print out a hard copy of another manuscript that just needs a little polish before starting the submissions process. I don't want to have two books on submission at the same time and am still waiting to hear back from a few people on my first book. My first book is really good, and I'd have to give up on it. I really hope someone picks it up.
A small part of me just wants to sling my manuscripts as-is onto Amazon and give up on this whole writing/author endeavor. But I'm not in a good place right now to make a decision like that, so for the time being, I'll just try to stay the course.
